The Wasagaming Campground in Riding Mountain National Park has been upgraded.
With camping season just around the corner, and Canada 150 celebrations already in effect Parks Canada has been actively preparing for a busier then usual summer season.
According to Visitor Experience Manager at RMNP Dave Tovell, the parks upgrades range in a wide variety of features.
"We've upgraded added services to 128 more of our sites, so that's either electricity or electricity and water [...] we've added electricity to all 30 of our oTENTiks, which are kind of a blend between a cabin and a tent like structure, we also upgraded eight of our washroom shower buildings so we did some renovations on those."
Parks Canada is also testing a variety of other new accommodations and has added two, 2-person pilot accommodations - the Micro Cube and Double Tent - to the Wasagaming Campground, available for rent beginning May 2017.
