Brad Michaleski meets with constituents in Roblin
Dauphin's MLA says a made-in-Manitoba approach to carbon pricing is the right approach.

Brad Michaleski says the government is just getting started on it.

"We haven't got anything that I know of in place, as far as something being rolled out. We're just getting into the infancy stage of this thing, and (I'm) looking forward actually to the discussion and the debate on this."

At a pre-budget consultation in Roblin earlier this month, a Grandview farmer said a carbon tax was going to cut into producers' bottom lines. Michaleski, a farmer himself says the issue of recovering that cost is a very real issue he's heard time and time again.

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister on Friday said he would not be signing the Canadian government's national climate change framework without them first agreeing to provide more federal money for health care.
