Not everyone is on board with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society's (CPAWS) recent stance against Parks Canada.
This past week CPAWS annual report accused Parks Canada of investing too much effort towards tourism and recreation rather then ecological conservation.
Conservative Member of Parliament for Dauphin, Swan River, and Neepawa Robert Sopuck says conservation is still there, focusing his energy towards the public. He added, "In my role as National Parks critic, I'm taking the approach that national parks are there for people especially local communities."
Riding Mountain National Park is federally recognized under Parks Canada.
