The Town of Swan River has announced it is implementing a Residential Lead Monitoring Program, in conjunction with the Provincial Office of Drinking Water.
As part of that, they are looking for 20 homeowners in Swan River who are interested in taking part in the program, which would see water samples collected from their homes and tested for lead levels.
Although the general water chemistry for the Town indicates lead levels are well below the maximum limits in the Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines, there could be higher levels in homes with older internal plumbing.

Preference will be given to home-based daycares and houses built before 1990 with children younger than 6 years old in those homes.
