Our MLA recently received some special recognition.
Ron Kostyshyn was presented a Lifetime Service Membership Award by the Association of Manitoba Municipalities during a Parkland District Meeting in Gilbert Plains. ]
Kostyshyn describes how his involvement in municipal politics got started.
"When you see yourself being objective of things that could be done better. And that was probably the mission statement. I said to myself "well, if you are not happy, maybe you can do better things in the municipality, then maybe you should jump into it." And that is what triggered my point."
Kostyshyn spent 27 years in municipal politics, including time as both a councillor and the Reeve of Mossey River Municipality.
