At last nights Mossey River Municipality town meeting, many residents were upset about having no doctors in the Village.
Head of Council, Kate Basford says right now their health centre doesn't have the lab and x-ray facilities for a doctor to practice to their full scope.
"The initial thing that comes into play is we've lost two doctors now because we don't have a lab and x-ray facility. That is the first things before we as a municipality start collecting money from our tax payers. The government, Manitoba Health and Diagnostics Services needs to put in these facilities."
Basford says for them to bring in a doctor could cost them up to $90,000 to $125,000 dollars and that doesn't even assure the Village that the doctor will stay if they still don't have the lab facilities in place.
