This year's Journey for Sight Snowmobile Ride kicked off this morning in Flin Flon, with riders eventually concluding the four-day trip on Saturday in Brandon.
Dauphin Lions Club president Dean Lounsbury says their travels today will take them to Cranberry Portage and The Pas, which is where they will spend tonight.
Lounsbury adds people can make donations at any point along the journey.
"Between my son and I, we are about $3,000 in donations. Anybody wanting to make a pledge and sees our support crew along the road can stop them and give a donation to them. And tonight (Wednesday) we will be staying at the Anderson Suites in The Pas if anybody wants to stop by there and drop off a donation. We are accepting donations right up until the end of the ride in Brandon."
Money raised through the ride will go to the Eye Bank at Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg, with some proceeds also going to the new eye centre in Swan River.
