Prairie Mountain Health is in the process of changing their pharmacy contracts over for personal care homes.
Two to four PCHs a week are being transferred to MediSystems for all the prescriptions to be filled.
In a statement released, spokesperson for PMH, Blaine Kraushaar, noted that there are significant cost savings anticipated from the service delivery costs, drug costs and as a result of provincial standardization.
This is to provide better service province wide, and in some cases give patients five days a week delivery instead of once weekly.
Quarterly reviews will still be done, and site meetings and conferences as requested.

As the change happens, there won't be a disruption in service and all homes will be transferred by July 31.
