The federal government has finally had enough and is demanding that Omnitrax fix the rail to Churchill.

If Omnitrax doesn’t comply, the federal government will seek repayment of $18.8 million dollars that it contributed to the Hudson Bay Railway line in 2008.

A legal obligation was established with the company to operate, maintain and repair the entire railway line in a diligent and timely manner until March 31, 2029.

Pallister has promised some provincial money to help Churchill but says they will not fund repairs.
