The Manitoba Government has announced that a drug cap is being introduced at Pharmacies in an effort to help reduce the cost for patients.
President of Pharmacists Manitoba, Barret Procyshyn, talks about the announcement.
"In addition to the cap there is a lot of changes in a new 27 page document that the government sent out yesterday. But as they mentioned the $30 affects only 3% of prescriptions that go out, 3% of prescriptions that were going to Manitoba were over $30 and they will now cap that at $30."
Health Minister Kelvin Goertzen expects the changes to save around $11 million annually.
