Communities around the Parkland are celebrating Canada Day!
In Gilbert Plains there will be a barbecue supper at 5:00 and a street dance before fireworks. The fireworks start at dusk. Gilbert Plains will also have a kids’ scavenger hunt which features 150 different games.
The Winnipegosis Historical Society is putting on extra displays for Canada 150. The celebrations also feature 4 different kinds of hot dogs, as well as a hat decorating competition.
Grandview will also hold events today. Rec director in Grandview, Jill Wiebe talks about what the community is doing to celebrate.
"For our 150 Canada celebrations we have fireworks that will be displayed at Wilson Park, estimated time is around dusk maybe 10:30 or 11:00."
The Grandview Swimming pool is going to be open all weekend from noon until 7pm.
