For the second time in a week, a carbon monoxide scare has caused an evacuation of a building in Winnipeg.
Last week, one man died from a carbon monoxide poisoning, while twenty others became ill when a Winnipeg business was evacuated.
According to Dauphin Fire Chief Cam Abrey, there is one way to properly defend yourself against carbon monoxide.
"The big hazard with carbon monoxide is that it is a colourless, odorless and tasteless gas. The best thing that you can do to protect yourself is to have a carbon monoxide detector."
Those who do have a carbon monoxide detector, are told to check it at least once a month.
