A local teacher is a recipient of the Guiding Journey Indigenous Educator of the Year Award.
Wade Houle of the DRCSS has been a teacher for 10 years. His first 3 years were spent in Winnipeg,
and he is now in his 7th in Dauphin.
Houle says winning this award is certainly an honour.
"I'm pretty humbled by it, I think its nice to be recognized in what sometimes can feel like a thankless job, so its always nice. Yeah, I'm honoured, I'm humbled, and so far its been a great experience.
Houle is one of just ten to receive this award across Canada.
