Beware of a couple phone scams affecting the Dauphin area.
City of Dauphin assistant administrative officer Sharla Griffiths says a resident informed the city two days ago about a phone call they had just received:
"One of the residents contacted us to see if we had any home-improvement or home-upgrade programs for mobility-challenged people. I said no. She said, well someone called, saying they were from the city of Dauphin."
The city is not offering any type of home-upgrade program at this time, and is reminding residents not to give out any personal or financial information if they receive such a phone call.
Councillor Patti Eilers at Monday's council meeting referred to another ongoing phone scam in which callers claim to be from Revenue Canada and try to scare people into paying them or giving them personal information.
