UPDATE:

The new warming shelter for Dauphin's CN station has arrived in town but it's not up yet.

CAO Brad Collett says the city is working with the contractor and Manitoba Heritage to coordinate installation and aesthetic treatment.

Mayor Eric Irwin says the shelter has to accommodate the CN station aesthetically.

Concrete pads have been poured and platform lights have been ordered. The city is also waiting for the heating unit for the shelter and bench.

The province is paying for two thirds -- up to $10,000 -- of a warming shelter at Dauphin's CN station, provided it's completed before 2017.

The shelter was supposed to be finished already but now the city is shooting for the end of the year.

Mayor Eric Irwin is confident they will meet that timeline.

"The province is in for two thirds up to ten grand so if it didn't get done we would blow off some portion of $10,000, but we're confident we can get it done."

The shelter was originally planned to be finished by the end of September.
