A local family is asking for help after an extensive house fire destroyed their home.
On October 6th, both the Sifton and Dauphin Fire departments tried to save the home of Paul and Angela Kuchma, but the home was a loss.
Angela says the fire departments have concluded that the incident was started in the fire place, but the explosion is unexplained.
"We know that the fire started in the wood fire place that we had... for some reason there was an unknown explosion, that the fire department can not even tell us 100 percent what happened."
She also says, that they recently just found out that one of their pets did die during the fire.
"The two dogs and the oldest cat did get out, however the little one didn't...we've now found out that she did not get out of the fire."
The Kuchma's plan to rebuild in the Spring, and donations can be made at the Royal Bank in Dauphin.
A Go Fund Me Campaign has been set up as well.
