There were business pitches from Parkland high school students at an entrepreneurship conference held in Dauphin.
Classes presented their business plans to a panel of judges by video at Take the Leap yesterday.
Annette Allen of Manitoba Agriculture, who traveled to schools as an instructor for business workshops, was responsible for recording the winning team's pitch.
"So the winning pitch was from Gilbert Plains and their business was Hardcore Hemp. So they were using hemp fibre to make protective vests."
Grandview High School, Goose Lake High, and Swan Valley Regional Secondary school were also represented.
