Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries is cancelling a $75 million dollar plan to buy and renovate a downtown building for new headquarters.
Crown Services Minister, Ron Schuler said, "Manitoba’s new government was elected on a mandate to restore prudent fiscal management to government operations... Our government asked Manitoba’s Crown corporations to review their activities to ensure they are acting in the best interests of Manitoba taxpayers."
The Crown corporation's new board appointed by the Progressive Conservative government announced today it was pulling the plug on the plan.
MBLL announced the review had resulted in the cancellation of the proposed project.
