Winnipeg Cop Facing 34 Charges
A Winnipeg police officer who used to be on the street crime unit is accused of drug trafficking, obstructing justice, theft, and more.
42-year-old Constable Trent Milan is facing 34 charges including theft, drug possession and possession of prohibited weapons.
Deputy Chief Danny Smyth told reporters on Friday, "This is a dark chapter for the Winnipeg Police Service."
Smyth says the year-long investigation began when "irregularities" came to light regarding how property, evidence, cash and police information were being handled.

Terrorist Groups Ruled Out in New York Bombing

Authorities say the act appears to be intentional, but have ruled out any connection to a terrorist group.
A second suspicious device -- described as what appeared to be a pressure cooker attached to wiring and a cellphone -- was discovered four blocks away from the scene.

Suspect in Minnesota Stabbing Killed
A stabbing at a Minnesota shopping mall has sent eight people to hospital, and forced shoppers to wait for hours to be released after the entire building was locked down as an active crime scene.
An off-duty police officer shot and killed the suspect, who was dressed in a private security uniform.
Police say the motive for the attack is unknown.

Today is the Terry Fox Run in Dauphin.
The 5K-8K run through Vermillion Park started at 11am.
On Friday, Sept. 9, a fundraising barbeque was also held.
