He has biked 2,290km so far in his journey to bike across Canada.
Martin Bauman, is biking to raise awareness about mental health issues, while also raising funds for the Defeat Depression campaign.

He says he wanted to ride for mental health as it hits close to home for him.

"Seen it in friends and family, loosing a cousin when I was young to suicide and seeing experiences of depression in my own family and very close to me. So those sorts of instances made it something that I knew I would like to ride for."

Bauman stopped in Dauphin yesterday and was excited to see the City of Sunshine as he has never been here before.

He adds there is only one thing that has worried him so far during this journey.

"More frightening for me is riding through thunderstorms. Just coming in to Dauphin today there was some clouds that were forming you could see the lightening around you so, hoping it didn't get too close and thankfully it didn't. So those sorts of things are out of your control and those are the ones that scare me a little more."

He started his journey in Vancouver on June 7th and plans on ending his trip in St. Johns Newfoundland by the end of August.
