Minnedosa could be getting a new Primary Health Care Centre by next fall.
Mayor Ray Orr says hopefully this will fix a lot of their problems.
"We are suffering from a shortage of medical professionals in this area and our current care centre is a little bit out of date, it does not have electronic record keeping. So, we've been told by the Regional Health Authorities that the single important thing we could do is to build ourselves a new primary care centre."
The center would be built near the Minnedosa hospital.
Orr says the cost of a new center is around $2 million.
"The new centre would easily house five doctors, there would be 10 examining rooms plus a treatment room. So, five doctors plus a nurse practitioner could quite easily work within that facility and it will be designed in such a way that if it does need to expand in the future it could be expanded fairly easily."
There will also be a suite that could accommodate medical students.
