After watching an in depth documentary on sexual exploitation at the Countryfest Community Cinema today, people who attended walked away with knowing more than they did before, and for one it brought back some memories.
Elaine Harvey, is a survivor of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse.
Harvey says that this presentation really opened her eyes with the lack of education people have about the subject.
"I got to re-live what I lived in actual life. It makes me realize that more of this kind of information is needed in our community."
Harvey hopes that the people who attended are now more aware of what can go on, and know the little things they can do to protect others.
"Be aware of your surroundings, watch who your children are associated with, check their text messages, find out where they are going to hang out in the evening, even that will go a long way from protecting our children from these sex traffickers because they have no mercy on who they get."
The documentary was called Nefarious: Merchant of Souls and it was put on by Boxes of Love- which is an organization that helps orphans in the Ukraine who are also exposed to human trafficking.
