The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba is looking into the use of a firearm by RCMP during a recent arrest in Ebb & Flow.
The investigation was launched on Tuesday and involves an early morning incident on February 13th, when police attempted to arrest an impaired driver in a stolen truck.
The suspect resisted arrest which led an officer to fire a less-than-lethal firearm at him.
The suspect continued to attempt to flee the scene but was eventually placed under arrest and transported to Portage Hospital to be treated for frostbite.
