Tuesday marks the next step in the RCMP's introduction of body-worn cameras on officers in the province.
Three more detachments - East St. Paul, Grand Marais, and Selkirk - will start using body cams, while officers in St-Pierre-Jolys will come online with the new equipment on January 22nd.
They will join officers from Steinbach, Amaranth, Portage la Prairie, and Treherne, who started using the new equipment late last year.
In total, around 400 officers with 44 detachments are slated to start wearing body cams by the end of April, with the remaining officers in the province being brought on board in the 12 months following that.
RCMP say the move is part of their ongoing efforts to be more transparent and accountable to the communities that they serve.
