If you have ever considered a career with the RCMP, then you are encouraged to attend a recruitment session Wednesday night at ACC's Parkland Campus.
Dauphin detachment Sergeant Scott Linklater admits working with the RCMP is challenging, but is also very rewarding.
"There are so many opportunities with the RCMP, so many different avenues that you can take once you become a member, you can join the police dog service or a forensic identification specialist. We have members who go worldwide as part of different liaison units. The door is wide open. It is a job where there is great variety. You are never really bored because there is something new coming up all of the time."
Members of the RCMP recruitment division will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on the many different careers within the police service.
Linklater adds the RCMP are looking for more than just officers.
"Besides police officers, we are also looking for telecommunications officers in our dispatch, we are looking for public servants that work in our detachment and assist us. There are all sorts of different roles that come out of that."
The recruitment session goes from 6:30 to 7:30 Wednesday night in room 101 at the Assiniboine Community College Parkland Campus, and Linklater encourages anyone that is interested to attend and be prepared to ask questions.
