The winner of the Ron Brook Memorial Award was announced today at Farm Outlook...and it is Don Tarrant!
The award is given out in memory of Ron Brook, a long time member of the Dauphin Ag Society.
Tarrant says, like Ron Brook, he won the award for being a long time contributor to agriculture.
"It's just that I've done a lot of things over the years, I think. I'll continue to hopefully add new services and stuff to grow our market share and our business and grow our customers' business."
Don is not the first Tarrant to win the Ron Brook Memorial Award. His father won the award about 15 years ago, so he says it is also a personal win for him.
"I've learned a lot from him and he works with me today. He's 82 years old and he still helps around the farm lots and he's very active. It's good to have him here and I'm winning it while he's still around."
Tarrant says he was very surprised to win the award, and did not actually expect to get it.
