A golden retriever will be doing some fundraising tonight in Dauphin for a four-legged friend of hers.
Both dogs are currently up for adoption at the Parkland Humane Society.
Chevy will be part of one of Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School's plays, so Shep can have surgery.
Chevy's foster Cam Bennet says Shep got hurt pretty badly.
"He unfortunately suffered a major injury to his front paw when he was quite young, but it hasn't healed properly, so unfortunately, he's going to have to have his front leg amputated. So we are looking at doing some fundraising and awareness for his cause tonight."
Band and Drama Teacher Andrew Coombs says Chevy will be accompanied on stage by Cam's daughter, DRCSS student Alexa Bennet.
"Luckily, the dog is fairly comfortable with her. The dog is fairly calm and she does a good job of, you know, being a dog and walking. She hasn't barked yet, so we'll see tonight when there's people in the audience whether she gets nervous. We'll find out."
Tonight's performances at the DRCSS kick off at 7 o'clock. Tickets are $5, with $1 going towards Shep's surgery.
