Labour Day Picnic At Vermillion Park Tomorrow 

Vermillion Park will be a busy place this Labour Day.

The Dauphin and District Labour Committee will be hosting a Labour Day Picnic tomorrow from 11 am - 2 pm .

Area representative from the Manitoba Federation of Labour, Gerry Labelle feels the picnic underlines one main message. He added, "The picnic is to celebrate the achievements of labour throughout history."

Everyone is welcome to attend the picnic.

Winnipeg Police Missing Taser

Winnipeg police believe a Taser was stolen when officers tried to help an injured man.

Police say two officers were on patrol early yesterday when they spotted a large crowd that was fighting and tried to break it up.

They say the officers attempted to perform first aid on an injured man, but some people in the crowd began assaulting the officers.

Police used a Taser and then returned to helping the injured man, but police say the weapon was dropped and then disappeared.

EMS arrived and took the injured man to hospital in critical condition.

Roughriders Fans See Mosaic Stadium For The First Time

Journalists in Regina got a sneak peak of the new Mosaic Stadium on Wednesday, and yesterday fans got their turn.

The event was hosted by the City of Regina, and the people who came remarked they liked the roof as well as the sightlines.

A test game is taking place on October 1st between the University of Regina Rams and University of Saskatchewan Huskies, with the Saskatchewan Roughriders playing their first game at the new stadium in 2017.

The Roughriders take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers today at 2 pm in the Labour Day Classic.

US Tropical Storm Moving Towards Canada

Tropical Storm Hermine is expected to become a hurricane again today as it travels up the US East Coast.

Environment Canada is keeping an eye on the storm and says eight counties in southern Nova Scotia could be affected by Hermine -- from Yarmouth through to Halifax.

But it won't reach that far north until at least the middle of the week.
