Agriculture aficianados have plenty to do in Dauphin this weekend.
Today is the 4H Beef Day fundraiser. Guess the weight on animals located in five sponsor locations: McDonald's, Dean Cooley's, Showdra's, Canadian Tire, and Reit-Syd Equipment.
Tomorrow is the Dauphin Ag Heritage Club's Threshing Day. Heritage Club president Lorne Day says it's a reliving of the past for the older people and an acquaintence with the past for the younger.
"We have really three groups: we have the older people who were involved for a number of years doing this sort of thing, we have the middle-aged people who remember seeing it done, and then we have quite a few children there."
He says it all kicks off with a pancake breakfast at 9.
"We have two threshing periods, one in the morning around 11 o'clock and one in the afternoon about 3 o'clock. It kind of closes down about 9."
He says they've also got a chore horse competition, and although he says it's boasting, he calls it one of the best in Manitoba.
