The province's mosquito trapping program has so far found only one culex tarsalis mosquito in the Prairie Mountain Health Region.

Locally, public works director Bill Brenner says city crews haven't seen a lot of action because of the lack of rain, but they're fully prepared to deal with mosquitoes.
"Obviously we're on the lookout and we're watching if we do see that there is mosquitoes showing up. There may be areas that we miss, but mosquitoes can travel miles and miles so they could be coming from outside of our treatment are anyhow."
Brenner says the city is working on trying to improve drainage throughout the city to reduce the amount of standing water.
