In an effort to educate and create awareness, Manitoba Public Insurance is conducting a campaign to raise awareness about drug-impaired driving.
The timing of this campaign comes in light of the federal government’s push to legalize the recreational use of marijuana for 2018.
The campaign will focus on new teen drivers, youth in general, physicians and their patients and the overall general public.
According to a volunteer roadside survey conducted last fall, one in ten Manitoba drivers tested positive for drugs with 53 percent of those testing positive for marijuana.
