If having a couple Elvis impersonators weren't enough excitement; an extraordinary guest is visiting the Inglis Historical Site.

Rick Mercer arrived in Inglis this morning to help out with the painting of the United Grain Growers elevator project currently being painted by a group of 8 volunteers.

It wasn't until recently that Alvin Zimmer, a board member of the Inglis Historical Site, knew Rick was coming to town.

“Well, I didn’t find out until Monday. Actually it was Stu Breckon, he was in contact with Rick, and they didn’t want to say anything till they knew Rick was coming out. So they didn’t tell anybody, even people on the committee didn’t know that he was coming until the beginning of the week."

The elevators in Inglis have been declared a heritage site in Canada. On Friday the men are participating in a karaoke event called Elvis and elevators. Tickets are 20 dollars and must be bought in advance.
