Last week the provincial and federal agriculture ministers met to create an agreement to replace the expiring Growing Forward 2.
The new 5 year plan is a 3 billion dollar investment in agriculture.
Manitoba Minister of agriculture, Ralph Eichler talks about what went into getting this agreement finalized.
"We weren't really sure if we were going to able to achieve an agreement, so a lot of work, staff hours, collaborations to make sure we got a workable and sustainable deal with our agriculture producers so we are very pleased."
The new Canadian Agriculture Partnership will come into effect on April 1, 2018. The day after the previous growing forward 2 agreement expires.
