The Carberry Ag Society received the Service Excellence Award at the recent Manitoba Tourism Banquet.
The awards were given out at a ceremony at the International Peace Garden Interpretive Centre near Boissevain, President of the Carberry Ag Society, Alan Christison, talks about being nominated for the award.
“The, Ah, local chamber of commerce nominated us for a Westman Volunteerism Award, and it was in the class of service excellence. And this is just a community group that goes above and beyond to make sure all their visitors have a good experience when they visit our fairgrounds. So we were honored to be the recipients of that award this year after being nominated a couple of years. I think it’s just for all of our hard work with the Carberry Fair which is coming up this weekend, July 7, 8, and 9th.
Alan says the society would not be as successful as they are without the hard work of the volunteers.
