Residents in Neepawa were shocked to see vandalism spray painted in the community.
A racial slur, referring to people of Filipino, Korean or Vietnamese descent, was spray painted on the town’s sign located off the highway.
RCMP reported there has never been an incident like this before in Neepawa.
Neepawa Mayor, Adrian de Groot, stated for now the sign has been covered up, since attempts to repaint it has been unsuccessful and the town is unsure if they can replace it this year as the cost of the sign is worth thousands of dollars.
