The Canada Summer Games Manitoba Hydro Torch Relay is running through 11 communities including Dauphin.
The relay will be in town on July 11th and starts at 10:30.
Lisa Luky, from Manitoba Hydro, talks about how the relay will coincide with another event taking place the same day.
“The torch is making its way through the province, and it’s coming to Dauphin,” explained Luky. “It’s a great opportunity for the community and it is happening on July 11, now coincidently Dauphin is also celebrating its birthday on July 11; so what an ideal opportunity to tie the two events together. In addition it was a perfect opportunity to unveil the reopening of CN Park. The city has been very busy all spring doing some renos to the park and it’s looking absolutely great.”
Luky says July 11th is shaping up to be a great celebration.
