The Grandview Municipality is working in conjunction with the Grandview Fire Department to prepare for the onset of rural residents burning ditch grass and fields.

With Spring bringing in drier conditions and warmer temperatures, many farmers and residents will be getting ready for the upcoming season.

Grandview Fire Department Chief, Jeff Safronetz notes the capabilities of the local fire department.

"We are a volunteer department and we will do what we have to do, but with the way the spring is going to be, there's going to be lots of burning happening. We just want everybody to be aware of the rules and regulations outlined by that bylaw, so that everybody follows them and hopefully we don't have anything get out of hand on us."

Grandview Municipality burning permits have a time frame of two weeks after being issued.
