Monday's Mountain View School Division Board of Trustees meeting had the board discuss the possibility of recruiting more international students.

Marc Kunza, the boards Coordinator of their International Student Program spent time in Japan, South Korea and Vietnam between February 19th - March 4th, focusing on recruiting students from those countries to study at MVSD.

Superintendent/CEO Donna Davidson believes having international students in the school division, would benefit everyone.

"The opportunity to have international students in our classrooms, will also support our domestic students around other cultures and traditions of other communities and areas around the globe. By having students from Vietnam, Japan, South Korea and Mexico, it helps our students understand that there are different cultures and different expectations in those communities, and gain an appreciation for diversity."

The board also discussed student enrollment, and the approval of the 2017-18 budget.
