Just one week after the 'Coldest Night of the Year' fundraiser at Parkland Crossing, another local group is stepping up by planning an event, aimed towards raising awareness for homelessness.

The DRCSS's Philanthropy group and Student Council are hosting a variety night fundraiser, raising money for the cause.

Teacher Cam Bennett says that timing for this fundraiser worked out perfectly with what they're raising money for.

"This year we are raising money for 'Coldest Night of the Year', our philanthropy group and our student council wanted to help out with that, and we always have a variety night, so it seemed like a good fit."

Tickets are just $5 each, and can be purchased at the door.

The fundraiser was originally scheduled for Wednesday March 8th, however due to poor weather conditions from Tuesday and bus cancellations today, the event has been postponed to March 15th at 7 pm. Previously purchased tickets will be honoured.
