While mother nature appears to have shortened winter here in the Parkland, one producer believes things are looking up for the next season.

Local producer Jim Kaleta spoke to CKDM, and shared how the majority of producers are preparing for the upcoming season.

"I think cautiously optimistic would express the thoughts of most people. People have come off, what most people would consider, a relatively strong crop. very few people had complaints about the yields. And I'm sure crop insurance people had very few inquiries into shortages of crops or claims."

Kaleta is also the Education Chair of Dauphin's Ag Society, who will be hosting their Farm Outlook event on March 9th at the Parkland Rec Complex.
