Parkland Crossing is finding a new way to combat homelessness.
On Saturday, the Dauphin location will be holding their first "Coldest Night of the Year" fundraiser walk, raising awareness towards homelessness in the community and the need for affordable housing.
Director at Parkland Crossing Jamie Harvey feels the issue of homelessness is growing in Dauphin.
"Are homelessness is hidden, there are still people living in tents in Vermillion Park it seems to be a growing problem... working with the housing first committee we have a list of anywhere from 40 - 60 people on any given night who are under housed or staying with friends because they don't have a place of their own."
Parkland Crossing is hoping a wide variety of people attend the event, registration begins at 4 pm.
