A man has died after being hit by a vehicle in northern Manitoba.
Police say the man was walking in the middle of a gravel highway while it was dark, before 7:45 Saturday night. A pickup truck traveling the same direction as the man struck him, about 18 kilometres west of Split Lake.
The 53-year-old man, a resident of Split Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was not hurt, and neither were her passengers. Police say the driver was sober.
