Last night, the Mountain View School Division held their bi-weekly board of trustees meeting to discuss the latest items that has surfaced throughout their schools.
There was lots to talk about throughout the meeting as well. One Big talking point was the construction at Mackenzie Middle School.
Superintendent Donna Davidson spoke to CKDM about the delays at the school, as well as how much the additional work is costing them.
"Well, with any large projects, you'll always have delays. When you think about when you build your home, you anticipate a move in date, and sometimes that move in date doesn't materialize. In this particular instance, we ended up with, from the start up of the project to the end, we ended up with about $900,000 worth of additional work. Which we were fortunate enough to get from the province of Manitoba around our industrial arts and home economic shops."
Davidson expects construction to be finished at Mackenzie Middle School around the beginning of May 2017.
