The Manitoba Beef Producers held the District 12, annual district meeting last night at the Jolly Club in Ste. Rose.

They spent the evening discussing the financial report, as well as the growth of Manitoba Herd and future programs.

MBP's expected budget deficit for 2016 was just over $102,000. But by the years end, it was only slightly above $18,000. General Manager of the MBP Brian Lemon, says they're very pleased that they were able to manage their money throughout the year.

"Marketing last year were better than we had anticipated they would be, so we had an increase in our revenue... other than that it was good sound management, and just being really careful and prudent with the money we had."

The District 13 meeting will be held tonight in Gilbert Plains.
