Moose populations in Southern Manitoba aren't doing so well.
This week, moose - minded researchers were in Brandon for the 50th annual Moose Conference and Workshop, discussing the issue of moose populations.
Managing Director for the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, Rob Olson feels this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
He added, "The moose in Southern Manitoba are crashing, and so really anywhere in Manitoba right now where there is roads, moose and people having access to them the moose are plummeting... we predict many more coming if something doesn't change fast."
Olson further said, "This time it's not complex, we're shooting to many... there's just simply to many being shot by people and not enough being born, it's that simple."
The conference is scheduled to conclude today.
