A rally was held outside Dauphin City Hall today calling for the condemnation of the persecution, and the reported mass killings and forced organ harvesting, of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Jason Liu says the persecution began in 1999, and he was put in a labour camp for one year. He says he was lucky because he is still alive.
"Many practitioners lost their lives... I often remember their faces," he said.
A report released in June by David Matas, Ethan Gutmann, and the Honourable David Kilgour, continuing on their past works, says the number of organ transplants in China are well above official numbers, and says quote: "the end of this crime against humanity is not yet in sight."
