A Bike Rodeo is coming to Dauphin to help teach kids the rules of the road.
Programs and Promotions Coordinator at Dauphin Rec Services, Lindsey Kyle says there was one at Whitmore School back in June but it was only offered to their students, so this one is going to be offered to all kids in Dauphin.

Kyle says it's a two part bicycle safety presentation involving theory and practice.

"So the children just learn about the rules of the road." says Kyle. "You know, signs, signaling, safety tips, how their helmet fits, bike fit and bike condition. And then the second part is the practical component and children practice the riding skills, turning, breaking, use of hand signals, and recognizing road signs." Kyle adds.

The event is being sponsored by MPI for kids aged 6-11.

The course is free of charge and you don't need to sign up.

Make sure to bring a bike and helmet, and it takes place August 10th at the Curling Rink at 1pm.
