Two Manitobans renowned for their leadership in connecting communities by raising awareness, were announced today to receive the Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year award.
Shahina Siddiqui of the Islamic Social Services Association (ISSA) and Michael Redhead Champagne of Aboriginal Youth Opportunities will both receive the prestigious award at the Power of Humanity luncheon on September 8th.
Vice-President of the Canadian Red Cross for Manitoba and Nunavut, Shawn Feely said "It's just a willingness to get involved and do the right thing."
Siddiqui is being recognized as the 2016 Humanitarian of the Year, and Champagne is this year’s Young Humanitarian of the Year.
