An investigation that began last year has led to a Brandon man being charged with offences related to child pornography.
Brandon police say the investigation began when a woman turned over a cell phone to officers, believing child pornography to be stored on it.
Police obtained a warrant and searched the phone. It's alleged the accused had been communicating with young girls through the messaging service KIK and exchanging explicit material with them.
It's further alleged the accused counselled a 16-year-old to send him nude photos of herself.
The 29-year-old man was arrested yesterday and is scheduled to appear in court Friday on charges of luring a child, possession of child pornography, and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
