Dauphin is currently hosting the Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs.
Opening ceremonies took place at the Countryfest Community Cinema this morning.
Fire chief Cam Abrey says there's about an additional 200 people in the community for the weekend.
"We have about 120 delegates that are registered for the conference, and then we have their spouses of course that are with them, and then we have a number of sales reps with the different trade companies. So we have 27 different companies that are represented today."
They kicked things off with a golf tournament in Gilbert Plains yesterday. Just under 70 golfers participated.
The theme for this year's conference is Safe and Sound: Protecting our First Responders.
A trade show is also taking place at Credit Union Place.
This is the second time Dauphin has hosted the conference since 2014. Abrey thanks the community for making it possible.
